Day 2
What if we’ve been asking young people the wrong question? Instead of “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, perhaps we should be helping them understand who they are, what matters to them and how to navigate what comes next.
Drawing on his own winding career and thousands of hours of coaching conversations, Lee will burst some of our assumptions about careers and success. He’ll explore why careers increasingly look less like ladders and more like a series of S-curves, why today’s students may reinvent themselves several times during their working lives, and why curiosity, adaptability and self-awareness could become increasingly valuable in an AI-enabled world.
Most importantly, he’ll challenge us to think beyond preparing students for their first job and ask what it might mean to prepare them for the 40 years that come afterwards.
